Anthony Donato is an artist, producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and mixing/mastering engineer based in Adelaide, South Australia. Through his production business, Shepherd & Psalmist, he works with artists to fulfil a simple mission:

With a one-stop-shop approach, Anthony helps bring songs from initial idea through to release-ready completion, shaping them into records that feel emotionally resonant, sonically distinct and fully realised.

A multi-instrumentalist across drums, bass, guitar, keys and vocals, Anthony often builds from live performance and human feel before pushing those sounds into more textural and unexpected places. His production style blends organic instrumentation with modern sound design, creating music that feels alive, intentional and memorable.
Raised on artists like Led Zeppelin, U2 and Stevie Wonder, Anthony was shaped by music where energy, groove and performance carried the emotional weight of the song. Today, those foundations are filtered through a modern production lens that prioritises texture, movement and human feel, informed by creatives such as Bon Iver, Dijon, Mk.gee, Jon Bellion, Kendrick Lamar, Harry Styles and more.
Anthony’s work sits across the broader alternative, indie/singer-songwriter, pop and R&B worlds — but the common thread is not genre. It is an ethos: music shaped by energy, rhythm and texture. Whether producing, mixing or mastering, Anthony’s aim is to facilitate the artist’s vision, honour their unique voice and help shape each song into its strongest form.
Alongside his production work, Anthony is an artist in his own right. In 2025–2026, he released the double single Glory / Stillness and his album Don’t I Want Real Life?, projects that explore cinematic textures, vulnerability, spiritual tension, longing and the collision between organic performance and modern production.
